The Legacy Circle is dedicated to empowering African Diaspora youth and adults in New York City through traditional culture.  Our goal is to awaken young people and adults to their identity as African descendants and their legacy as leaders and Maroon Warriors. We were founded in 2006 by Manuela Arcineigas through a Social Justice Fellowship awarded to her by the Wagner School of Public Leadership.

Our Sacred Work

We collaborate with educators, artists, youth, adults, and anyone who is interested in honoring and celebrating their traditional culture as a means to empower others. As long as one person is learning and sharing our traditional culture, we will never die.
