By becoming a member, you support our movement to educate and empower NYC through cultural arts and African Diaspora traditional teachings. Your membership dues help support the organization of important events and activities that allow us to reach our Annual Goals of building: a new cadre of practitioners of traditional music, solidarity between people of african descent, and a community who has the skills and knowledge needed to heal ourselves and take care of each other through our culture and spirit.
Membership also provides you with access to our network and reduced admission to our programs. In a time of financial crisis, small organizations count on the support of individuals like you to make sure we can continue meeting our mission of sharing traditional music, dance, history, and spirit, with all of our community. Help us meet our goal of recruiting 100 new members to in 2011 by forwarding this webpage to your fellow people Afro-Caribbeans, African-Americans, and Africans!



If you are not interested in membership but you would like to donate towards a specific program, including:
* teaching artist residencies and performances in NYC public schools
* adult music and dance workshops
* Mayombe: Which Craft? Educational event about Afro-Diaspora Spirituality
* Show Me What You Got: Annual Fundraiser Showcasing the learning of our students.
* Women's Drum Cypher: a movement to support the development of women in traditional music and dance.
* Caribe Negro For Haiti: Solidarity-building between various people of African descent.

In the spirit of cofradias, cabildos, secret societies, and brother/sisterhoods traditional to our culture, we practice the principles of mutual aid and reciprocity in order to sustain our culture despite all odds.
